How does it work?

Two Day DIY sessions

It is recommended that the two day DIY gets the best results for your dog. We recommend your dog has seen a groomer 4 weeks prior to these sessions due to complications that arise from matting and learning on long coats.

DAY 1 – 3 hours (Bathing and brushing at home)

Learn how to bath your dog correctly using everyday equipment that will replicate a salon environment at home. Discuss coat products suited to your dog’s coat type and lifestyle. Handling techniques. Safety considerations. Learn about the structure of hair to understand why we use these methods of preparation. Use a high velocity dryer and use a fluff dryer – learn fluff drying techniques Learn proper brushing and combing techniques to avoid matting and prepare the dog for clipping and scissoring on day 2. Ear plucking and cleaning processes. Hygiene and skin allergies.

DAY 2 – 3 hours (Clipping and Scissoring at home)

Learn to clip Poodle face, feet and tail. Choose a hairstyle for your dog that will suit your lifestyle. Nail cutting and anatomy of a nail. Learn how to use clippers and blades safely. Equipment maintenance. Hygiene of equipment. Sanitary clipping Clipping techniques. Learn how to use dog grooming scissors safely Learn about finishing products.

Total price for the two DIY session is $550.

OPTION 2: Clipping and Scissoring at home – 3 hour session

Learn to clip Poodle face, feet and tail. Choose a hairstyle for your dog that will suit your lifestyle. Nail cutting and anatomy of a nail. Learn how to use clippers and blades safely. Total cost $350 For this session the dog must be bathed and thoroughly combed through prior to attending.

OPTION 3: Pet styling service by Arrowelle Black
